A dedication to our family and friends

This cookbook is for all of you who have gathered around our table.

For my children, who grew up with these recipes and whose laughter, stories, and growing years are woven into every page.

For the family and friends who pulled up a chair, stayed for dinner, came back for seconds, and became part of the memories made in our home.

For the people my children have brought into our lives, who have added their own stories, laughter, and love to our family.

I have always believed that some of life’s best moments happen around a table. It doesn’t have to be a fancy meal. Sometimes it’s a favorite recipe made for the hundredth time, a crowded kitchen, a holiday dinner, a late-night snack, or simply everyone sitting together talking long after the plates are empty.

When I cooked, I hoped you would taste more than the food. I hoped you would taste love.

These recipes are a collection of the meals that filled our home through the years, but they are also a collection of memories. Each one reminds me of a season of life, a gathering, a celebration, an ordinary day that became special because we were together.

My greatest hope is that these recipes continue beyond my kitchen.

Make them for the people you love. Change them. Add your own traditions. Gather your people around your own table. And when you do, I hope you remember that food has a beautiful way of bringing us home to one another.

Because in the end, it’s never really just about what’s on the table. It’s about who is sitting around it.
